About us
From university spin-off to global impact
Virtuosis AI was founded by Lara Gervaise and Edoardo Giudice as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). The company emerged from Lara's research, which was a cross-disciplinary collaboration between machine learning engineers and behavioral psychologists and psychiatrists, focused on using artificial intelligence to provide feedback on wellbeing and communication. Further developments in speech processing and AI expanded the project to address broader health conditions.
One of Virtuosis AI’s significant milestones has been its collaboration with Microsoft. After a successful integration into Microsoft Teams, Virtuosis AI was recognized as the Startup of the Year by Microsoft in 2023 for the value brought to enterprise customers.
